2017 Jazz & Comedy Club

The Friends of the Wayland Council on Aging held their annual fundraising event on September 23, 2017 at Sandy Burr Country Club. Guests were welcomed by the Shane Wood Jazz Trio, who played jazz favorites throughout the night. Jimmy Tingle, the nationally known comedian, entertained the sold out crowd with his witty humor that had the whole room laughing. Jimmy then became the emcee for the very successful live auction. The evening ended with an elaborate dessert bar and great conversation.

2013-2016 Lobsterfest Fundraisers
For four years a complete lobster dinner was served along with an ice cream sundae bar. Attendees participated in live and silent auctions, an art show, a wine pull and beer toss that put a smile on everyone's face.
2011-2012 Iron Chef Fundraisers
The Iron Chef Competition was held for two years. Each year 6 groups were given a basket with surprise ingredients that they used to create an appetizer and entree. Another group was busy with cake decorating. Both groups were judged by local chefs. Silent auctions and raffles were held to make this a very fun and successful fundraiser.
